Jammin' Fest

We had a fun Jammin day yesterday at my house. Since I have been married I have been more interested in my moms canning and food storage. Since I was little my mom always canned and made lots of freezer jam. So yesterday my mom got all the girls together and taught us how to make her famous freezer jam. I am sorry but it is the best jam I have ever had, nothing is better than hers.

I dont think I had any idea what we were getting ourselves into until I saw all the strawberries coming into my house...

We had figured out how to keep a organized line going with the jam. 2 people cut and blend the strawberries in there blenders, 1 person stir the sugar and stawberries and put the red bowls in a line on the counter and time them for 20 minutes each. Than 2 people stir and cook on the stove the water and pectin than mix it with the strawberries for a certain time. Everything had to be stirred, mixed, set for a certain time. I thought we were pretty organized! We had a great time all together and I kept everyone entertained with watching reruns of American Idol. :)

Our notes fell in the jam...poor jam. I thought my mom was going to lick it all off.

This was just MY jam alone...we had a lot more to do for 4 other people. I am glad we started at 10AM!

Me and Krista's jam together. My mom figured out that we did about 145 containers all together. That is A LOT of jam! Great for Christmas presents!!
