I thought I would share a recipe that my mom just shared with me this past weekend. I woke up from a nap on Sunday to these cookies on my doorstep. Thanks mom!! She gave us a big plate full of them and lets just say that there is only 2 left right now. Billy and I LOVE them!! The best part is she used the applesauce that we made and canned this past summer.
Applesauce Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
6 c. flour
3 t. baking powder
3 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. cloves or nutmeg
4 c. applesauce (store bought kind..3 cans)
2-3 c. chocolate chips
Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs. Add flour and dry ingredients along with applesauce. Stir in chocolate chips. Bake at 350 for 9 1/2 minutes. Can frost with cream cheese frosting. YUM!!
