FHE - Hiking

If you have not heard yet I am doing a Health Challenge with some of my family memebers. There are 12 of us doing the challenge. I got the amazing idea from Jenna Flom (Thanks Jenna!!). We are on week 2 out of 8 weeks and I feel like I am doing really good! About 3 weeks ago I had a break down and told myself I had to do something with my life and get healthy and lose weight. I feel like I have tried every diet but I dont just want to be on a "diet", I want a life change. So thats when Jenna gave me this amazing idea! I have started a blog to post everyones points weekly and post advice about our challenge. Its posted on the top right corner of my blog http://meganshealthchallenge.blogspot.com/.
Well anyway, one of the requirements is that you need to exercise 45 minutes a day so this last Monday for FHE some of my family memebers went up to the Bountiful Temple and across the street is a hike. I have not done this since I was in Young Womens, and I thought it would be pretty easy..wow was I mistaken. I am OUT OF SHAPE people!! Thanks for a understanding family that stayed with me the whole time, those steep hills were hard but I didn't stop. I felt like we had done miles and I asked me little sis Morg's how far we have gone and she simply replied "like 1/4 of a mile". I was like "WHATTT"!?. We stopped right when we got across the river and Morg's had brought us all dinner from Blimpies and we found some really nice rocks to sit on and I was exhausted at this point so I sat down on the rock quickly when all of a sudden I heard loudly a rattlesnake! I got up so fast and ran down the trail. Come to find out the rattlesnake was right there under my rock. So while we ate I sat in the middle of a big dirt pile so I could see all around me :)

Morgan has always been the adventerous sister

I did it!!

Awesome! I don't blame you for being tired- that looked almost vertical. I finally figured out the best way to keep me exercising was to talk to people about what I was doing. Having someone to report to kept me motivated. Great idea with the blog too.

SO PROUD OF YOU MEGAN!!!!!!! You will feel so much better about yourself and what you can do when you are done with this. I hope it is the life change you are hoping for!!! 45 minutes is a tough challenge- I'm way impressed. When I started exercising again I was only going 15 minutes a day and I wanted to die!!!
