My mom found this recipe in the newspaper the weekend before Conference and it was a lady that makes LOTS of Apple Pies with her daughters and then freezes them. Then when you need an apple pie you just take it out of the freezer and put it straight in the oven, you dont need to wait for it to unthaw. So we got together yesterday and worked on it for about 6+ hours. We all had a great time, we laughed, we yelled, we laughed some more. I think my mom was all ready for us to leave at the end. We had made a system and it went fast. I am sooo grateful for a mom that has taught us how to be a homemaker. She has taught how to can salsa, marinara, peaches, apple pie filling, grape juice, etc. I look at girls my age that dont even know to to cook nor can and it makes me sooo sad...I am so happy that my mom has taught me. I cant wait for when I have kids and they grow up that I can teach them.

Morgan and Krista made the crusts from scratch

Kelsey cut the skin off the apples and put them in a bowl of water/lemon juice

I made the apple mixture with all the ingredients and scooped it up into the pies.

My mom stood there for over 6 hours and rolled out the dough for the top and bottom crust.

My niece Abee helped all of us with whatever we needed. She was our entertainment and talked our ears off the whole time. LOVE HER!!

I think Morgan counted 34 pies..wow was it a lot but so fun!

Thanks mom for the great idea! Great memories we are making all together in the kitchen.
